This is really not a huge surprise to me, but some of the names on the list are rather surprising. Every year, the WWE has a Black Friday. I just always seem to remember that it happens right after WrestleMania. Due to the struggling economy, I guess they pulled the trigger a little earlier than usual.
I’ve met most of the guys on this list and some I have worked with many times in the past and consider them friends. Kevin Thorn (Seven from Power Pro Wrestling) and Mike Posey (referee for Bert Prentice) are two of the guys that I’m very familiar with. I hate to hear that they’re losing their jobs. Thorn is a big guy and should land on his feet somewhere. Posey is a very nice guy and is good at what he does – he could be picked up somewhere else, as well.
There’s no reason Thorn shouldn’t be able to actually get over somewhere with his size and skills. TNA would be a good fit, in my opinion. They seem to be able to find things for guys to do. Look at Abyss. He’s gotten YEARS out of his run in TNA and I’m sure has made a very good living. Thorn has the size to be important somewhere. (more…)
