Minglewood Hall – TONIGHT!

v5It has been confirmed – I have a very busy night, tonight!  Wrestling returns to Memphis, TN – and hockey returns to the Ice Palace (DeSoto Civic Center)!

First, I will start my night off at the Mississippi Riverkings’ game!  The Riverkings are riding a six-game winning streak into tonight’s game.

After that, I will be headed down to Minglewood Hall on Madison Ave in Memphis, TN to wrestle on the Memphis Wrestling Classics!  I’m not exactly sure who I’ll be stepping in the ring with, but whoever it is – I’ll be ready!

Tonight’s a big night of action for me in two different arenas!  So, be sure to come out to one or the other – or do it like me and be at BOTH!

So much for a ruined career, eh?

“Bundy the Gorilla”

blaylockI just got word that on this morning’s edition of RRO’s “Shooting the Shiznit”, Hollywood Jimmy Blaylock… err… Bundy the Gorilla had a few things to say about me.  I understand that he had a little advise for Five Starr.  So, I clicked over to RRO to listen… but of course, like all the other Blog Talk Radio shows – the sound was so horrible that I couldn’t understand a single word.  Heh – and I’m supposed to be a guest on March 10th?  I may be re-thinking that.

Nevertheless, I digress.

So, I received a few text messages and e-mails regarding what Jimmy had said.  Apparently, some of you could actually understand what they were saying?  Anyway, Bundy says that Dustin Starr has ruined his own career.  He says that I’ve gotten so much heat that no one wants to book me for shows anymore.  Not Jerry Lawler.  Not Corey Maclin.  Not any of the outlaw promotions out there – none of them want to book me.  His advice was to throw my computer out the window.  Get rid of the internet because it’s killed my career.  (more…)

Five Starr GRIZZ!?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: — dustinstarr @ 2:14 am

83005157JM001_Spurs_GrizzJust like the song goes, I have friend in low places!  As you see in the picture – Grizz is imitating Five Starr (ME!) at a recent NBA basketball game!  Boy, that singlet sure does look familiar!

That’s because it’s MY SINGLET!

Grizz called prior to his rampage on the court and asked if I had anything big enough to contain all his fur but not reveal too much leg.  He knew who to call.  Just like I do every time I step inside the squared circle – Grizz stepped onto the court and slammed some unlucky contestants!

A special thanks goes out to NBAE and Getty Images photographer, Joe Murphy.  He was able to snap a quick shot of Grizz before the bell rang.  Grizz smacked around a few “sumo” competitors during this brief basketball intermission.

Makes you wonder if Grizz is ready to step back into the squared circle?  I have a quick story on the last time he got in the ring.  He wrestled KoKo B. Ware… and came out of that match a little more bruised and battered than what he had originally planned.  Although it was hard to see through the fur, Grizz was literally bruised black and blue.  He wasn’t aware that he had been beaten a little harder than usual.  Apparently, he was taught a lesson… or was made pay a due or two when he stepped in there with KoKo.

Liberties are taken in the ring for various reasons – Grizz is just lucky he wasn’t injured badly.  A steel chair to the legs is nothing to play around with.

I Love Reports

v1You gotta love how the internet reports on shows.  Some of the quotes are fantastic.  I just so happened to be reading the latest report for New Blood Wrestling in Newburn, TN.  I have some friends who wrestle there – and I’m always following opportunities.

Brian Tramel and I don’t see eye to eye very often when it comes to reports.  We actually have two totally different views on most of the business.  I hate how he puts everything over so strong… but on the other hand, I know that he’s just trying to be positive.  But in the latest NBW report, I couldn’t help but to laugh.  Especially, since I’m so close to the situation.

I’m only going to rip a quote or two and post them here – but you can view the rest on the link below.

“Seth Knight was originally scheduled to work Sarge… but their match was called off. I was told it was probably a good thing because Seth was not in any condition to work…”

Hilarious.  Calling out Seth Knight for not being in “any condition to work”.  I popped when I read that.  Seth had a little too much to drink?  Or was he drugged up?  Or perhaps, he was incarcerated?  I love it.  By the way, Seth Knight left Dyersburg when he saw me in the dressing room.  I picked on him too much, so he says.  Then, he quit Ripley, TN when I showed up there.  I guess the rumors were correct – he’s dodging Five Starr.  I’m glad to know that I have that big of an impact on the kid.  My next booking may be in Newburn.  Maybe I can run him out of the business altogether! Five Starr Wrestling Academy Graduate on ECW!

boyceThe first and only graduate from the Five Starr Wrestling Academy will make his WWE debut tomorrow night on Extreme Championship Wrestling.  Let the jealousy begin!  I’m proud to say that Matt Boyce, my boy, will be wrestling on Sci-Fi before a worldwide audience!

Congratulations goes out to Boyce.  I know he’s been dreaming of this for years and years.

This is Matt’s first match for the “fed”.  But it’s not his only pay-day, so to speak.  He’s worked several extra roles for them.  One being involved with Crime Tyme on RAW.  He’s been to several WWE shows and had many opportunities, but size seemed to hold him back.  Now, he’s finally getting his just-due.

I know many of you are looking at the picture and wondering how in the hell he got picked to be on the show.  Right?  I know for a fact that some of you reading this blog are wrestlers yourselves… and you haven’t had the opportunity to wrestling in that 20′ x 20′ wrestling ring.  So, why is Matt getting this opportunity.  “He’s so small.”  I can hear you all now.  Yeah, the question is there.  But the answer is simple.

There’s two reasons – he’s paid his dues and he’s got the connections. (more…)

myspace_logo22You’ve all been asking about it!  Everywhere I go, “Dustin Starr, why don’t you have Myspace?”  Well, ask no more!

I’ve had a team working on this project for the past few weeks and it’s finally to the point where I’m ready to accept friend requests and open this up to the public.  Dustin Williams has been awesome in helping me with the layouts, design and even the smallest details.  I’m sure he’s sick of dealing with it – but I want to send a big THANK YOU out to him!

There will be more features added, as time goes on.  This page will be an extention of the blog and Twitter accounts that I update daily.  So, be sure to check eveything out and follow the life and career of your favorite wrestler – FIVE STARR!

Click the icon and take a look for yourself.  Be sure to send that friend request because my first goal is 500 friends!  How quickly do you think I can accumulate 500 friends?  Check me out!

Do you know your Intercontinental Title History?

intercontinentaltitleHere’s a little something for all you wrestling fans out there.  Test your knowledge and pit it against Five Starr.  This is pretty fun and it really makes you think back to the days where you REALLY enjoyed watching wrestling.

You have ten minutes to name as many former (and current) Intercontinental Champions as you possibly can.  DO NOT CHEAT!  You’ll be surprised at some of them that you missed, once you’re done.  I was, anyway.  How did I forget so-and-so!?  I’m ashamed at a few that I actually missed because they were hardcore into the WWF Attitude Era.  You start to get those fond memories of the storylines in the past.  Also, I was able to isolate the cool Intercontinental title belt Champions (belt posted) and the newer-uglier-version.  I hate what they have now!

Anyway, I scored a whopping 93 out of 120.  Yes, I’m that good… and a bit of a nerd when it comes to naming Champions.

CLICK HERE to test your memory.  Post your score in the comments section.  But remember – DON’T CHEAT!

Valentine’s Vengeance

v8Last Saturday night, Valentine’s Day, EWE in Ripley, TN put on their latest super card entitled “Valentine’s Vengeance”.  The place was absolutely packed to the rafters.  It was a standing room only.  In fact, the place was so full – they took chairs out of the wrestler’s locker room in order to accommodate the fans!  The boys in the locker room with me were loving and hating this, all at the same time.  They knew they’d hear it from me if the show drew… they instantly knew a blog was coming to boast about the fans coming to see me.

For some reason, the boys hate that.  But the truth is the truth.  The fans wanted to see me get beaten.  Those fans wanted to see Five Starr finally get put in his place.  And I’ll tell ya this right now – when my music hit to open the show, they knew it was ON.  I’m sure there was a bit of a surprise to them that Jon Michael and Dustin Starr would be jerkin’ the curtain.  But hey, I had other things on my plate that night… and you always try to start the show off with a bang.

And we did. (more…)
