So, as I stated in a blog just a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to finally take a look at the RRO Yearbook 2008. A big thank you goes out to Brian Tramel from Rasslin Riot Online, whom delivered the book to me at EWE’s MAYHEM in Ripley, TN. I’d been wanting to take a look at it for a very long time. So, I appreciate Brain for giving me something to look at while bored at the hotel room in Birmingham, Alabama.
Upon my first inspection of the book, I guess I never realized how thick it was. It’s a big book. Several hundred pages, in fact. It’s very professionally made, too. I was pleasantly surprised. While flipping through for the first time, I did notice that there was a whole lot of text. I would prefer more of a magazine-style book. Text wrapped around anchored pictures… but mainly it was text. Sure, there were several pictures spread throughout the book. But it felt like an encyclopedia instead of a magazine. Maybe that’s the feel they were going for. My number one gripe would have to be seeing so many of the Mississippi wrestlers in there. I kinda threw up in my mouth a little.
I’m not knocking. I’m just saying. I expected something a little different. Maybe more focus on the better workers?
The Yearbook was a great idea though. And it reminded me of a lot of the things that had gone on that I forgot about. It’s funny how that happens. Less than a year has passed and I can not remember most of what went down. Maybe I’ve been smacked in the head one too many times? But to put it mildly, I really enjoyed the book. However, there were a few problems to it. (more…)
