The big moment is here. I climb into the ring and here comes the man they call STING. A million things are running through my mind right now. First and foremost, this is STING talking to me right now! I don’t care who you are, you’d have to admit that Sting is a legend in the wrestling business and it’s an honor to be speaking with him.
Sting and the director of the movie discuss a few scenes with us, but there’s one specific spot they want to see. They have the camera framed up to catch it just the way they want to see it. Sting explains that he remembers one of his first episodes with watching wrestling featured a guy slamming his opponent’s head into the turnbuckle. After he slams his head, he clawed the opponent’s face… then, delivered a devastating forearm shot right across the face! Sting remembered that spot after all these years and wanted to put it in the movie. So, here we are. We’re going to make that happen for him.
We shot the scene. It was a little stiff, I have to admit. But luckily, I was the one slamming, forearming and clawing at Ken’s face. So, he got the worst of it. They had us go through this a few times until we had it spot on. Pretty easy day, huh? I actually get PAID to do THAT? How awesome?
After everything’s done, Sting requests that we have a match. Ten minutes or so. Back and forth match – and he requested that we put that same spot within the match somewhere. So, I went from doing a very small part – to wrestling a full-on wrestling match! I was thrilled! This was going to be BIG for my career! Not to mention, I’ll be in the ring… and STING will get to see me work!
I had been in the business for maybe four or five years. So, I wasn’t green… but I hadn’t had the experiences that I’ve had now. TV? No big deal to me. I hadn’t wrestled for WWE yet. I had wrestled for TNA on a few Xplosion shows. I had even been on a few TNA pay-per-views as an extra. So, I had some experience. However, I thought that this was one of the best things I had done, up to that point in my career. I was stoked.
Ken and I wrestled. Did our spot. And we were done. Upon entering the locker room, again, there was a camera man. He wanted some “extra footage”. He interviewed the two of us for the DVD. It just keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it?
Months and months passed before the DVD came out. It was straight-to-DVD released, so no movie theaters featured this big film (sarcasm anyone?). But I was excited. I couldn’t wait. The DVD was hard to find, so I had to order it from the web. Once it arrived, I knew my career would change… at least a little bit. Right? Well…
I put the DVD in and this is what I saw (watch the first minute and a half):
That’s right, folks! After all that footage I filmed, I was in ELEVEN SECONDS of the movie! After filming an entire wrestling match and DVD extras – I was in ELEVEN SECONDS of the DVD. No extra interview was shown. No match was shown. Just the one spot they specifically asked for. Credits? Nope. Didn’t receive a single credit in the movie. Actually, they gave someone else MY credit! I was raped all the way around! To this day, I still haven’t seen the entire movie. I was so heart-broken, I couldn’t make it thru the entire movie. Not to mention, many of my friends who I wrestled with at the time were in the movie, as well. Boo.
But still – it was a great experience. I’m glad I did it. I wore make-up for the first time ever. I had to take my belly piercing out for the first time ever. I wore Ken Wayne’s tights (gross!) for the first and only time ever. And I met the one and only STINGER. Pretty great experience, huh?
Have you seen the movie?

Wow.. Been looking for that movie. I was going to to TNA a lot back in the day. Well, at about 3:36 – 3:41 the camera pans through the crowd. My girlfriend at the time and myself can be seen (her wearing a white tanktop and me in a grey shirt standing behind her.. boy have I changed)
