I haven’t had a lot of time to really catch up on what’s been going on locally. I’ve been so wrapped up in the WWE bookings and then trying to play catch up on real life happenings… I’ve sorta neglected a few people who have my back. Any of you who have tried to call, text, e-mail, tweet or just get a hold of me in general – sorry if I haven’t gotten back to you. Things are getting much more tame, now. So, give me another try… or I’ll see you at the shows!
While I was away, there were a few good posts on RRONEWS.com that featured yours truly. I was very surprised and flattered to see a column from Brian Tramel regarding my future in the wrestling business. Check it out HERE. It’s entitled “A Starr is Born“. Imagine waking up early in the morning on one of the biggest days of your career and logging on to the web. Then, you go to one of your favorite wrestling websites… only to see that you’re featured on the top of the page with a customized banner AND you have a column that puts you over like a million dollars. Imagine that for a moment. This business is all about confidence and people believing in you. If you don’t think that had a major effect on my attitude walking into the WWE bookings, you’re sadly mistaken.
So, Brian Tramel, thanks for the kind words. Everyone check that column out, if you haven’t already.
A few days later, BT posted some more information. Wrestling Observer is quoted in the article, as well. Pictures from WWE.com are also posted on the story. Check that one out HERE. It’s entitled “Dustin Starr on ECW“. RRO does a great job of letting the fans know when and where the wrestlers are going to be. This is especially important when we’re supposed to keep our mouthes shut for various reasons. BT is the voice for the boys, at times. I appreciate that.
Check those stories out and let me know what you think of them! I appreciate all of the support, as usual!
I have a respect for WWE superstars that grows larger and larger by the day. Many of you think, “well, wrestling’s fake anyway… they know how to fall…” I’ve never been one to really be offended by comments like that. But each time I have the opportunity to play WWE superstar for the week, I get a little more aggravated each time I hear it. It really is offensive and I’ll tell you why.
I’m still reeling a bit from last week. Everything has been so hectic lately. It just seems to put you so far behind when you leave town and have to rush back. The experience proves that you certainly have to figure out a system in order to live a life on the road. It’s certainly tough… but I’m looking forward to it.
You hear that? Listen real close. Now, can you hear it? No it’s not my head bouncing off the mat from a deadly Ezeckiel clothesline. It’s the Mid-South wrestling scene buzzing about Dustin Brady… Err… Dustin STARR!
What a week it has been. Rear-ended, storm hits and knocks out my power on Friday (btw, it’s still out!), a debut in Newburn, a Championship win at EWE and a benefit show that pitted the two top guys in the area against one another. Let me say again – what a week!
I’ve discussed the overwhelming support that I’ve felt the last week or so. It’s something that I never thought I would see in this business. Friends, family, fans, other wrestlers – you name it, they’ve come to stand by my side. They’ve got my back. Not only do they have my back with help, but they’re actually rooting for me. Support is priceless. I’ve never had the support of everyone to this extent. And I honestly have to say – I like it. I like it a LOT.
I know there’s a mixture of wrestlers and fans that read this site on a daily basis. Most of you do not know everything that goes into this business. The wrestlers do not know the steps that need to be taken in order to get certain opportunities. It’s like cleaning a really messy room – you just don’t know where to start! The fans, on the other hand, they only see what goes on outside of the locker room and in the ring. So, it makes it very difficult to show all the hard work, dedication and sacrifice that goes into not only my career but my LIFE.
I can not tell you how much it means to me that you all came through when I needed you. Words can not even describe how I felt when Justin Roberts came to me to brag about the signs that were in the crowd. When I went down the ramp and stepped in the ring, it was like a dream. Looking out into the crowd and not only hearing… but seeing the support. Wow. It was unbelievable.
I’m finally back. Coming off the single-greatest wrestling streak of my life, I’m on cloud nine. Starting out with EWE’s MAYHEM and ending it with an appearance on ECW, it doesn’t get any better than that. The WWE experience was truly spectacular.
