Professional wrestler & USPlabs Athlete Dustin Starr is schedule to join MSL on Saturday afternoon to discuss the latest happenings in the world of professional wrestling.  Every 3rd Saturday of the month, Starr joins Kevin Cerrito and Marcus Hunter to discuss numerous topics that relate to professional wrestling & our hometown of Memphis, TN.

This week will be especially interesting, after this news story reported on TMZ.

Along with the TMZ story, Starr will also discuss the Grand Opening of Jerry “The King” Lawler’s new wrestling museum, Memphis Wildfire Wrestling’s BRAWL in the FALL, longtime Memphis Wrestling promoter Corey Maclin’s unexpected passing & winning his 2nd NPC Tennessee State Men’s Physique Championship in a row.

Kevin Cerrito and Marcus Hunter host MemphiSport Live (MSL) on Sports 56 & 87.7 FM every Saturday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. MSL was voted 3rd Best Sports Radio Show in the 2010 & 2011 Memphis Flyer Best of Memphis poll.

WWE Hall of Famer “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, Lead Suspect in Re-Opened Murder Case

As we discussed on the MSL broadcast on 7.20.13, WWE Hall of Famer “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka could be convicted of murder from a case that has been re-opened after 30 years.

Get up to speed on the happenings by reading this story.  It is very informative & quite shocking that new evidence could turn up after so many years.

Snuka is one of the most recognizable characters in the history of the WWF/WWE because of highlights of him leaping from the top of a steel cage during a match at Madison Square Garden.  And we all remember Roddy Piper busting a coconut over Snuka’s head, during a heated segment on Piper’s Pit.

What are your thoughts?  Snuka, a murderer?

MSL LIveIn case you missed it live, my lovely girlfriend Maria & I guest co-hosted the #3 sports radio show in Memphis on Saturday morning.

We recapped the week’s big stories during the Starting 5 (with Five Starr & Maria), Marcus Hunter joined the program to talk about the success that his favorite teams are having & we even went into full detail on the 2013 M Awards.  Maria & I had a few changes we would like to have added to the awards, this year.

Also on the show, of course we did Hang Up & Listen, where fellow pro wrestler & rival of mine, Derrick King, decided to call in and challenge me in the ring.  Later, Kevin Cerrito would join the program for WooHoo’s & Boos.

And don’t forget, we had a full interview with first-time guest & Memphis Wrestling legend The Spellbinder.  During the interview, I even made the official announcement of which NPC contest I’ll be competing in next.

We had a great time & certainly look forward to another “hostile takeover” of MSL.  Big thanks to the boys for giving us the opportunity to speak to the people of Memphis!

We are proud to announce our special guest interview this week on Memphis Sport Live will be none other than former WWF & World Bodybuilding Federation Superstar, The Spellbinder.

Not only does Spellbinder have a rich wrestling legacy in Memphis, TN as arch-rivals to Jerry “The King” Lawler & Brian Christopher but he has also traveled the world working with WWF, TNA Wrestling & even as a super heavyweight bodybuilder.

Spellbinder is a former Memphis Power Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion & is considered the very first WWE developmental wrestler. In July of 1995, Spellbinder debuted for (then) World Wrestling Federation on Wrestling Challenge as Phantasio.

Join us live on Saturday morning to hear our exclusive interview with one of the most physically imposing wrestlers in Memphis Wrestling history.

WWE NXTHave you seen this story?  If not, you have to check it out.

Apparently, a disgruntled WWE developmental talent is teasing the possibility of actually selling copies of his WWE developmental contract.

Derek Foore, known on Twitter as @ChadBaxterWWE, went as far as to tweet that his “WWE contract is better than a tell all book about the #wwe. It shows how it #exploits the wrestlers worse than a pimp!”

Read each Tweet by clicking here.

I will say this – having signed a WWE contract myself, I read every single page before putting my signature on down.  Once I read thru every page, I actually had second thoughts on even signing it because of how much control they have over the talent.

Thank you to Steve Gerwick for sharing the story.
